Poem: “like a stranger I have stood by the world amazed” – Erin Noteboom
Read by: Christine Parton

Welcome
Brett & Amaryah: Having experienced the unique love of those who have accompanied us this far, we are thankful to have you here to share in our celebration and to bless the commitment we are making to each other.

The significance of this commitment is big enough that we are bursting with it, and still small within the grandness, and the minuteness, of each day.

Our love exists among the curve of landscapes and the urge of wild fruit. To live beyond ourselves “requires of us a humanity we’ve not yet mustered and a grace we were not aware we desired until we tasted it”(Barry Lopez).

Prayer
Amaryah & Brett: Give us grace, O God, each day. Surprise us with its taste so that we can come to know the presence of things sacred. Amen.

{SITE TWO}
Covenant of Marriage
Eva: “The meaning of marriage begins in the giving of words. We cannot join ourselves to one another without giving our word. And this must be an unconditional giving, for in joining ourselves to one another we join ourselves to the unknown.

Amaryah and Brett, you are going where the two of you – and marriage, time, life, history, and the world – will take you. You do not know the road; you have committed your life to a way”(Wendell Berry).

Affirmation of Support
Parents’ Blessings
Carol and Carl: Brett and Amaryah, we have given gifts of life and love to you. You treasure these gifts and your relationship to us. Our blessing and support is important as you establish you own covenant of marriage.

Art and Thea: We honour your commitment today. We have shared in it by believing in you and supporting you in the directions you will take. Amaryah and Brett, we offer you our blessing.

Friends’ & Family’s Blessings
Everyone: Brett and Amaryah, we give you our blessing and promise to support and encourage you in your life together.

{SITE THREE}
Eva: Brett and Amaryah, you bring the uniqueness of a particular personality and spirit which is your own, and out of which will grow the reality of your life together. Seeking grace in your lives, and willing to love each other in unique fullness, I invite you to share your wedding vows with each other.
